Today in Ancient Rome news

We learned:

  • First, Rome was a Kingdom, ruled by Kings
  • Then, Rome became a Republic, ruled by the Senate
  • Julius Caesar became the first Dictator until he was killed
  • Then Rome an Empire with the first Emporer, Caesar Augustus
Romulus and Remus or "Who are these strange humans having nummies?"

First, Rome had kings!
Sally says, "Why no girls?"
The Roman Senate or a bunch of crazy dudes in bed-sheets fighting

Julius Caesar
(Sally thinks he's handsome, in his red bed-sheet)
Caesar Augustus
(Whose baby is this?)

The People of Rome:

Patricians                 Slaves               Plebeians

 Patricians

Patricians were rich people, Men wore togas (bed-sheets), Women wore a stola and a pulla (dress and shawl). They made up the Senate.

Slaves

Slaves were people that were owned by people (seriously? That's messed up). They were on the bottom of Roman society.

Plebeians

Plebeians were the regular people (like us). They worked as wine makers, shoe makers, shopkeepers, etc.
